One thing that has always been important to me is using cleaning products that are safe to use, non-toxic for the environment, and minimally packaged to cut down on plastic packaging waste.
In the spirit of the new year and cleaning, here are some of my favorite everyday cleaning products that are minimally packaged and safe to use.
Cleaning Clay
I love cleaning clay because it is such a versatile cleaning product. I use it specifically on my sinks and cooktop surface to get it back to a sparkly surface. While this product does come in plastic, the paste is non-toxic and lasts a really long time. It comes in other scents but lemon is my favorite.
Laundry Sheets
This plant-based laundry detergent from Kind laundry comes conveniently in sheets. It is packaged in a compostable cardboard package. This means you are not shipping heavy liquids in plastic for your home essential. I have it set to automatically ship me every few months. I prefer the unscented version, but the ocean breeze smells fresh as well. The soap cleans just as well as normal detergent. It’s also great for traveling.
Foaming Hand Soap Tablets
I purchased some attractive foaming glass hand soap dispenser pumps. I purchase a couple boxes for the entire year (lavender and grapefruit are my favorite) and they take up minimal space in my cupboard. These amber soap pumps are perfect for using over and over for a long time.
