The homeowner approached us after upgrading other parts of their home and having just the two bathrooms left to remodel. The bathrooms were original to the home and had gotten a lot of use from their family over the years.
My design firm, along with Ashis Bhakta of Elite Construction Contractors, was tasked to complete two small bathroom remodel projects on a conservative budget. They didn’t want to change the footprint of the two rooms or move any of the fixtures.
Due to the small square footage, we were still able to select quality materials and fixtures.
The homeowner loves the color blue and wanted to incorporate that into the design of both bathrooms. When she saw the Rice tile line from Marazzi, she fell in love with it and we knew that we had to use it in her tiny shower.
We kept the 12×24 floor tile and quartz slab consistent between both bathrooms. The hall bathroom got white cabinetry, while the primary got a soft gray. We carried the quartz into new storage shelves above the toilet to maximize space in an elegant way.
The new primary bathroom shower was tiled with a mixture of white field tiles and blue and white floral deco tiles that have an artisan look to them. The inspiration photo was a random mixture of the two, which is the look we applied to the shower. We wrapped the quartz around the recessed niche in the shower to elevate the look and provide a flat surface for soaps.
The same floor tile in a mosaic 2×2 size was used in the shower pan to help the space flow and make it feel larger. A multi-hook was placed just outside the shower door to provide quick access to a towel. We converted the previous ceiling light fixture to a fan/light combination since there was no ventilation previously other than the window.
The hall bathroom got a pop of blue in the niche and was accented with a soft gray field tile around it.
